Hanging with Jarrett and Jeanne and Jon (or not)

Peepy and I were at O'Hare airport in Chicago recently and spied this scene. Who was the super-high security for?

Yes! It was for Peeps. Oh, and Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, was there, too.

Where were we headed? Why, to Emily Dickinson territory -- Amherst, MA.

While there, we met up with our friend, National Book Awardian Jeanne Birdsall. She got on the phone and called Jon Hamm to meet us, only he already had lunch plans, otherwise he would have come.

Luckily, Jeanne's other friend Seal joined us.

Later, we met up author/illustrator/Lunch Lady Man Jarrett Krocsozka for local homemade ice cream (as opposed to far away factory made ice cream) . . .

Alas, Peepy was not the neatest eater. Luckily, we had handy hand sanitizer on hand . . .

BTW, Jarrett recently scored a awesome deal with a series featuring a platypus. Hello? A platypus??? What about a Peep? Sigh.

While we were in Amherst, we came across a lovely farmer's market. We have one at home, but it's always fun to visit others . . .

Now Peepy says she wants to be a farmer.

Oh! And can't forget, here's what Kirkus said about BOBBY THE BRAVE (SOMETIMES), which was just released this month . . .

It's the sequel to BOBBY VS. GIRLS (ACCIDENTALLY) . . .
