Last year was our first year at Comic-Con in San Diego . . .
To say that it was overwhelming is an understatement. But we were thrilled to be there this year, again . . .
Our first reaction upon seeing the sea of people was to flee in the opposite direction.
However, we braved the crowds. Why? Because the number one reason people go to Comic-Con is to have their photos taken with BatPeep, that's why! (I won't reveal who's really behind that mask, but here's a hint.
We saw lots of interesting things and many, many, many people, creatures and monsters, and superheroes, and did I mention many, many, many people? There were an estimated 130,000 people + one BatPeep there.
Look! It's famed animator Bill Plympton. (LOVE his work.) And there's one of Jane Austen's characters -- reimagined . ..
Others things/people we saw included . . .
There was so much stuff, it (and the many, many people) spilled outside . . .
Back inside there was this . . .
Who are those attractive young people with no pores or flab? Why, it's the kids from GLEE!!!
We attended a panel on comics and music, and then roamed around more . . .
We'll have more about Comic-Con in our next blog, including scenes from our Middle Grade Heroes Panel . . .
In the meantime, there's this photo roundup from Publisher's Weekly, and this . . .
Oh! And one more thing -- BOBBY THE BRAVE (SOMETIMES) made The Horn Book's list of recommended sports books!.
UPCOMING JULY STUFF . . .
